Jane Hyde MCSP Member of HPC, AACP, Physio First, ACPAT, VN.
I qualified from Bristol Physiotherapy School, in 1990, after which I then worked for the NHS, gaining valuable experience in many of the different Physiotherapy disciplines before specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, in particular, neck and back pain, soft tissue, sports injuries and foot biomechanics. I have developed a busy private Physiotherapy Clinic over the past 18 years, which for the past nine years has been based in Lamerton, near Tavistock. Along side my human Physiotherapy interests I am a founding member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy and regularly treat horses and dogs for back and related problems.
Post graduate studies have included a Diploma in Cyriax Orthopaedic Medicine, all levels of the McKenzie Back Care Institute, Muscle Energy Technique Seminars and a keen interest in the use of Pilates Exercise Therapy. I am a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
When not working at the clinic, I lead a busy life as a mother of two children who attend Tavistock College. I also assist my husband in the running of
his
equine veterinary clinic, and whenever possible, persue my life long passion of horse riding. We love the outdoors, frequently spending time walking, cycling, canoeing or at the coast.
Paul Coker. Bsc Hons Physiotherapy, Msc Manual therapy, SRP, MCSP, Member of HPC, AACP and Physio Fisrt.
Hi my name is Paul. I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2001 from Robert Gordon University in sunny Aberdeen. I then worked for the NHS in a variety of setting, gaining a broad base of experience in all aspects of physiotherapy, before specialising in treating musculoskeletal conditions. In 2006 I left the NHS and travelled to the significantly sunnier climes of Perth Australia to study for a Masters degree in Manual Therapy, where I was fortunate enough to graduate with a high distinction and win an academic prize.
Since then I have worked in private practice both in the UK and New Zealand. I now work here in Tavistock and for Plymouth Albion Rugby Club. I have special interests in; management of sports injuries, manual therapy and manipulation, acupuncture for pain, soft tissue and myofascial release, and specific exercise prescription.
When not at work I spend most of my time chasing waves to feed my surfing habit. When the swell isn't up I enjoy running, cycling, windsurfing, skiing and climbing to name just a few. In short I live and breathe sport.
As a teenager I windsurfed competitively at a national and international level. I was a member of the British team and finished 21st in the youth worlds, this gave me invaluable experience of the athletes' view of elite sport.
Over the last four years I have had keyhole surgery on both knees, this has given me invaluable insight into being a patient!
Carmel Marner BPhty, MCSP, HPC reg, MASO, QLD SRP.
I have over 15 years of physio experience, having worked in Australia,
the USA, Nepal, and the UK. Since completing my training in Brisbane,
Australia, I have gained a wealth of experience in a range of physical
therapies, including all aspects of musculoskeletal manual therapy, acupuncture,
Core stability and Pilates type exercise therapy .
I have a special interest in working in partnership
with overweight & obese clients, enabling them to overcome their
barriers to being more active. I am currently part of the
Plymouth NHS Weight Management Team.
My most challenging job is as a Mother of two energetic youngsters. I am
a great outdoor enthusiast, & one of my greatest experiences has been
trekking to Everest Base Camp. My husband frequently takes part in
Mountain marathons & adventure races, and as back up crew to these
events I often finds myself Physio for any sporting injuries.
